WikiActivitiesQuests

QuestsThe intro chain, the job trials, when a quest expires, and reading the markers.

Quests pay Glint and gear, teach you the world, and, most importantly, are how you change your job at Level 15. They are a head start, not the road: a quest is worth about a third of the level it is offered at (a story chapter half, a Master’s trial a full one), so your levels are still earned in the field. The whole quest catalog is server-driven, so your log, markers and rewards always match reality.

!
Quests expire. Climb 15 levels above a quest’s quarry and you can no longer land a blow on them at all (the level-gap rule), so the quest becomes impossible, not merely slow. Its giver stops offering it, and one already in your log is marked Outlevelled so you can clear it. Cull the Swarm hunts Lv 5 Grubshell, so it is offered from Lv 6 and gone at Lv 20. Delivery, “reach level N” and story-errand quests have no quarry and never expire.

Reading the markers

◉ Live capture Mira the Town Greeter in Dawnhaven's plaza with a gold marker floating above her head, the four job Masters visible behind her.
Mira, with a mark over her head. The four Masters stand behind her at the Masters' Hall.

Quest-givers show a floating gold marker above their head (and on the minimap and world map):

Gold “!”: Available

This NPC has a quest you can take. Talk to them to accept it.

Gold “?”: Turn in

You’ve finished a quest’s objectives: return here to claim the reward. Turn-ins take priority over new offers.

A quest moves through available → active → ready → done. Track your active quests in the Quest Log; the tracker shows what to do next and sorts “ready” quests to the top. If you finished the objectives and levelled up on the walk back, you are still paid; only a quest still asking for something can go stale.

The intro chain

◉ Live capture The Quest Log window showing First Steps as active, its two objectives with progress counters, its reward line and an Abandon button.
The Quest Log: what you took, what is left of it, what it pays, and the way out.

Given by Mira, the Town Greeter in Dawnhaven: start here as a fresh Wayfarer:

The four Master job trials Lv 15

The big one. At Level 15, each Master in the Masters’ Hall offers a trial. Accepting begins your path; completing the trial is what makes you that job, and grants 3,000 XP (a full level, the only quest in the game worth one), 2,500 Glint, a bundle of skill points and a reward item. A Wayfarer is hard-capped at Level 15, so no one can ever climb past their own job change.

Undecided? Accept a trial, and if you change your mind, abandon it from the Quest Log: the “choose your Job” prompt returns and you can try a different Master. You only lock in on completion.

Zone quest lines

Each field zone has a Warden running a chain that levels alongside you:

The boss contract

There are no daily quests. Levelling here is earned in the field, and the three zone “Warden’s Rounds” dailies that once refilled every morning have been removed. One repeatable survives, and it pays no XP at all; it is a reason to go back into the Sunforge, not a shortcut:
