Leveling & JobsThe XP curve, the Level 15 wall, and everything you gain on the way to 60.

Levels are earned by defeating monsters. Quests help, but they are a head start, not the road: across a whole playthrough they cover about an eighth of the XP to 60. Your level drives your power, the gear you can wear, and the content that gives full XP. Two numbers matter most: Level 15, where your job begins, and Level 60, the current cap.

The Level 15 first-job gate

A Wayfarer hard-caps at Level 15. Your XP bar climbs normally to 15, then freezes at 0%; further XP is simply voided. You stay stuck there until you complete a Master’s trial and become a job, at which point the ceiling lifts to 60.

If you hit 15 and the bar won’t move, that’s not a bug; it’s the Wayfarer wall. Head to the Masters’ Hall in Dawnhaven and take a trial. A gold on-screen prompt reminds you.

This is enforced on the server, so it’s the same for everyone. See Getting Started for the trial walkthrough and Classes to decide which job to take.

The XP curve

The experience needed to leave a level follows a classic MMO curve; quick early “dings”, then a real climb through the 40s and 50s:

XP to leave level L = ⌊ 60 · L1.4 · (1 + L² ⁄ 2000) ⌋

In practice: Level 1→2 is ~60 XP; by Level 30 each level costs roughly 1.45× what a flat curve would; Level 50 ~2.25×; Level 59 ~2.74×. Early levels fly by; the last stretch to 60 is a genuine grind. Level and XP are server-owned, accumulated from your share of every kill, so the bar you see always matches the server.

What you gain each level

Every level-up is a full heal plus a stack of rewards:

On each levelGain
Max HP+15
Attribute points+2
Skill points+2 / +3 / +4 (by bracket; see below)
Base attack+2
Power skill damage+4
HPRefilled to full

Skill points by level bracket

Skill points come faster as you climb. Across the Level 1–60 journey the brackets are 2, then 3, then 4:

Level bracketSkill points per level
Level 2–202
Level 21–403
Level 41–604

Reaching Level 60 earns roughly 178 skill points total: not enough to max every skill, so you’ll specialize. See Skills for the trees and costs.

The job-change skill bundle

Completing your Master’s trial grants a big one-time skill-point bonus on top of the points you’ve earned, and it differs by job, roughly matching how skill-hungry each class is:

JobOne-time bonus SP
Vanguard+40
Skydancer+50
Oracle+60
Channeler+90

Leveling faster

The Level 60 cap is the ceiling of the first job. A second job change, and the levels beyond, are planned for a later chapter of Skybound.
